Bra Sale

So the older you get, the harder it is to find a quality guy. This is logical since you start out with x number of good guys and, as the years pass, they get snatched up one by one by girls who were smart enough to grab them early. So it’s kind of like the bra sale at Victoria’s Secret. You can find some really great deals, but if you don’t go on the first day, it’s practically impossible to find a cute bra! All that’s left are the tacky ones that you would only see on the women standing on the corner if you make a wrong turn in Columbia after midnight…but that story is for another blog. Anyway, after the first day of the Victoria's Secret bra sale, you can no longer find the good bras in the neatly sorted bins on the table, you have to look under the table and dig to the bottom of the cardboard boxes hidden under the tablecloth. Lately I feel like I’m digging through a bottomless cardboard box full of tacky bras. It’s tough being 24 and single.

jerri-
i know we don't know each other, but we have a lot of the same friends and from your great blog i feel that maybe we should. i was cracking up as you compared boys to bras. i am sure they love it. but you know..i know its so hard being patient...i feel ya...i am 23 single and in columbia with not even very many just guy friends...but sometimes you do luck up at the sale. you know how once in a while you will find that one bra that is perfect admist all the junky ghetto ones. amazingly it fits perfectly and is just what you were looking for. it almost seems meant to be. so til we find that one, we just gotta keep persevering and pushing through the janky ones because apparently it was not meant for us to go to the sale on the first day. but it will make the find all the more exciting and worth it. til then..let me know if you find any good stuff in colatown:)

Haha....now that may be one of the funniest things I've read in a while. Never really thought of myself as a leftover "tacky bra", but I kind of like it. Maybe a dookie-brown color with sequins.

I'm proud to say that Jerri is one of my friends.

This post was hilarious. I heard about the post before I actually read the thing.

Jerri, I would make a comment here that would be more in depth, but I shall resist.

This was hilarious.

Justin- thank you for refraining...it's not like i don't know what you are thinking by now anyway...so predictable. :)
Jason- I picture you more as the neon orange with red and pink lace. By the way, my aunt/your next-door neighbor thinks we'd make beautiful babies.
Erin- I'll be on the lookout. We girls need to stick together when rummaging through the riffraff. :)

Jerri,
I'm glad that Julie was at Victoria's Secret when the sale began.

Ed, I'm with Sandy. I don't think Julie got you at Victoria's Secret. I think it was more of a sympathy purchase. Like from those people who sit at a table outside of Walmart and try to get you to buy stuff for a good cause. Luckily, it worked out great for you!
Love you honey. And you too, Julie! :)

Jerri-

I hear ya about being 24 and single! But I do believe God has that special bra waiting for us girls in the backroom that He is just waiting for the perfect moment to pull out. :) (That really is an interesting comparison- glad to see law school has not hampered your creativity!)

Oh best friend of mine - i agree with you, men are much like bras - they both prefer to be in contact with your breasts.

very funny - great analogy! :) Try being 27 and still single. However, inevitably there'll always be another sale. The key is to prepare...so when it does roll around you're camped out in front of the store before the doors open. That's my plan anyway. :)
